May 2009:
In May 2009, Ed and his wife Bethany won a "Partners in Preservation" award from the Oakland Heritage Alliance for Adaptive Use/Rehabilitation of their home in the Temescal. Also in May, Jane Chartz and Howard McEldowney's kitchen remodel and addition was recognized in the 2009 BAHA Awards by the Berkeley Architectural Heritage Alliance.

News- 2008:
Glen has been invited to serve on the City of Oakland’s new residential Technical Advisory Group (TAG) for the purpose of updating Oakland’s Zoning Code. Glen has served as a North Oakland representative to Oakland’s General Plan Congress in the early 90’s (the beginning of this process), the Oakland Planning Commission for 7 years, and has decades of experience designing buildings with Oakland’s Zoning Code.   

"After the Wildfire"
Glen was interviewed by Eve Kushner of the San Francisco Chronicle for a July 9, 2008 article “After the Wildfire.” The article reported on ways to design homes to resist fires. Glen was quoted in a few reports on our office’s experience and our approaches to building fire-resistant buildings. Our office has designed over 50 new homes in the Oakland Hills since the ‘91 firestorm, and created plans for dozens of houses that were lost, for fire insurance claims.
